I downloaded the entire database at the annual level and wanted to know if you have a strategy to summarize the data at the city level and not only at the agency level.

The only way to do this is to identify all the agencies in a city and figure out what share of each agency's crimes occurred in that city. Though there is no way to do this accurately as, for example, state and county law enforcement don't say which crimes occurred in each city under their jurisdiction. The main method for city-level data is to use the largest agency in that city as the city's measure of crime. For example, using Philadelphia Police data for Philadelphia, ignoring the crimes reported by other agencies in the city, such as the University of Pennsylvania Police.

How are you doing? Sorry for the inconvenience. I am currently doing my graduation work in the degree in economics. I am evaluating the impact of the legalization of marijuana on crime in the United States. For this research, I am using the database that you provide in your web site "https://www.openicpsr.org/openicpsr/project/100707/version/V18/view". This database is sorted by State and also by county. The reason for my message is to ask you what types of control variables I can use for my econometric model since I have never worked on this type of analysis before. Any kind of comments would be a great help.

Jacob: How are you? If it is not too much trouble, I would like to know how I can find information about differences in education in different states in the United States. I have tried to find the American Community Survey 2000-2022 and could only find the tables from 2010 in the census database. Do you know where I can find information since 2000?
