This is a example project about how to create a simple blog like oriented API server with Django REST Framework using ModelViewSets and Serializers.
The code has some interesting details to help understanding:
- Nested Serializers, and how to get the whole nested object
- Serializers parameters (read_only, write_only, many, ...)
- Custom methods in a ModelViewSet
The code already contains a database with some sample data. It's superuser is demo, password demo.

First of all (recommended but not mandatory) create a new virtualenv space to isolate django config from the rest of the system $ mkvirtualenv name_of_my_new_virtualenv

Install dependencies through pip $ pip install -r requirements.txt

Run the sample code, use the desired address $ ./manage.py runserver 127.0.0.1:8000

Go to any of this URLs to check the API http://127.0.0.1:8000/api/v1/posts/ http://127.0.0.1:8000/api/v1/post/3/ http://127.0.0.1:8000/api/v1/post/3/comment
