update for pihole v5

hi,
can we use your script in pihole v5 (beta) or do i need to wait for an update?
jakenology commented
You would have to wait for an update. Pi-hole v5 uses SQLite for its blocklists and other items, and therefore, we would have to integrate with SQLite and the new system in general. If you have the knowhow, you are welcome to investigate and tell me how v5 works in that way. I have used it once just to play around, but I am using the prod version of Pi-hole at the moment.

Hi,
Here is my small feedback:
- i setup a new ubuntu 20.04 VM on vmware Workstation Pro 14.5
- i setup pihole and unbound on the VM
- i updated pihole to v.5
- i used you script to test if it will work with v5
YES it works perfectly for me...
I did not add manaually all the domains in WEBIF on pihole -> Custom DNS
thank you very much for your script, you made my home pornfree and safe i
hope!
thx

Sounds good! Just curious, what does your network setup look like with the Pi-hole DNS? As always, I am available for help 😊

since pihole v5 provides group management feature to set different policy for different user, can this force safe youtube & search only apply to specific client IP?
jakenology commented
I will take a look at it. It may require a redesign and/or update. I am
sorry to hear that it is not working for you.

Hello. I'm trying to install this on v5, but it doesn't appear to install
any of the google safesearch domains and some other things are missing too.
Any updates on making the script work with v5? The instructions aren't
exactly clear from the perspective that it says to go to the "custom DNS"
tab, but that's not an option in v5

I actually got this working... Although, I don't recall exactly what I had
to do, I think it was mostly user error.
