Image to ASCII Converter

This Java program converts an image file into ASCII art representation. It reads an image file specified by the user, processes it, and generates a text file containing ASCII characters that represent the brightness levels of the pixels in the image.

How to Use:

Clone the Repository:

$ git clone https://github.com/joaosa24/ImageToAscii.git

Compile the Code:

Compile the ImageToAscii.java file using a Java compiler. You can do this by running the following command in your terminal or command prompt:

javac ImageToAscii.java

Run the Program:

After compiling the code, run the program by executing the following command:

java ImageToAscii

Enter Image Path: When prompted, enter the full path to the image file you want to convert. Make sure the image file exists and is accessible from the location where you are running the program.

View Output: Once the program finishes execution, it will generate an output.txt file in the same directory where the program is located. Open this file to view the ASCII art representation of the image.

Example:

Here's a simple example of how to use the program:

  Enter the path to the image file: /path/to/your/image.jpg
  Imagem convertida com sucesso!

After the successful conversion, you'll find an output.txt file containing the ASCII representation of your image. Open this file to view the ASCII art
