Earthquake Simulator Pro

This project is a browser application which lets you re-experience worldwide earthquakes. It is based on earthquake data of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from the last 24 hours: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/feed/v1.0/summary/all_day.geojson.

Installation

  1. Clone the repo
  2. Visit https://jon-kroko.github.io/ or open index.html in a browser of your choice (suggested: Firefox, Edge, Chrome)
  3. Follow the instructions in your browser

Developer Info

  • To get familiar with the earthquake dataset, you might want to take a look at example_earthquakes.json or visit the URL above.
  • A documentation of the Leaflet map library is available at https://leafletjs.com/.
  • The earthquake data is given in GeoJSON(P) format, which is supported natively by Leaflet: https://leafletjs.com/examples/geojson/
