A simple URL shortener made in Elixir, with the Phoenix Framework.
This is an example of how you may give instructions on setting up your project locally.
To get a local copy up and running follow these simple example steps.
- Elixir installation
To start your Phoenix server:
- Run
mix setup
to install and setup dependencies - Start Phoenix endpoint with mix
phx.server
or inside IEx withiex -S mix phx.server
- Now you can visit
localhost:4000
from your browser.
The server runs with a SQLite database, so no steps to setup the database are necessary.
This project can be used through the browser, with the input that will shorten a URL.
To shorten a new link:
# POST /api/new
{"url": "http://example.com"}
To retrieve the information about a shortened URL:
# GET /api/:key
- Cache with ETS tables
