POLARIS RMS is a comprehensive records management system designed specifically for investigators in the field of digital forensics. It provides a platform for generating and managing digital forensic analysis requests, allowing examiners to efficiently handle and track their workload. Additionally, the system offers metrics and reporting capabilities for lab administrators to gain insights into the overall performance and productivity of the forensic lab. POLARIS RMS was designed to be deployed using a VM.
Set up a virtual machine: Choose a virtualization platform such as VMware, VirtualBox, or Hyper-V, and create a new virtual machine. Specify the desired operating system and hardware configurations for the VM.
Install the necessary dependencies:
- Web Server like Apache
- MYSQL DB
Clone the project: Clone the POLARIS RMS project repository onto the VM. This can be done using Git by running the git clone command followed by the repository URL.
Configure the application: Depending on the specific requirements of the POLARIS RMS system, configure the web server and DB
Access the application: Finally, access the POLARIS RMS system by opening a web browser within the VM and navigating to the appropriate URL or IP address.
