Using the data for GIS education series with QGIS

Hi,
I am thinking about using this great dataset for education series using QGIS - similarly to:
https://blog.gvsig.org/2017/07/12/learning-gis-with-game-of-thrones-free-book/

• just personal project - only for fun, no money expected :-)

Would be on my web or blog, expect making all the additional files publicly available - or can commit them here.

What do you think about it?

Finally, one more question. I heard about the DEM. I have no problem to create it - did you use only the contours as input for the interpolation or did you also have some additional height data?

Hi Jan, That sounds like a great idea. You have my permission to use the ME-GIS files. ME-GIS is a general repository of Middle Earth geography. So, if you have any files which further that goal, we would love to have them. But if you are, say. clipping layers as an example for your series it would probably make sense for you to host those layers somewhere else. I have additional vector layers which I haven't put on github yet. Let me know what you need and I will put it up if I have it. I do have an older version of the 100 meter DEM. Which I can probably send to you when I get off of work this evening. Jeremy
