Research OpenAPI

The API description format for the REST APIs is the OpenAPI Specification v3.1.0.
For the API design and documentation, it is used the Stoplight.
This is an OpenAPI designer with a built-in style guide.

❶ Study01-1-generator

The server stubs are generated with the OpenAPI Generator  Maven plugin.
The Maven plugin generates the Java classes for the API packages and the model packages. As a source, it uses the YAML file ' openapi.yaml' (exported from Stoplight).

Action:

1. With batch file "01 MVN clean install.bat" create library 'Study01-1-generator-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.jar'.

❷ Study01-2-server

Action:

1. With batch file "01 MVN clean install run.bat" start the SpringBoot server.
2. With URL http://localhost:8080 open in the web browser the home page.
3. On this home page select 'Load sample dataset'.
4. With batch file "02 CURL CRUD.bat" create, read, update, and delete departments and employees.
5. With batch file "03 CURL load and read.bat" load the sample dataset and get departments and employees.

❸ Study01-3-client

The API client is generated with the OpenAPI Generator  Maven plugin.

Action:

1. With batch file "01 MVN clean install run.bat" build and start the client application.

3.1. Class kp.client.ClientApplication
