Recipe Zest

Recipe Zest is an android application for searching and saving recipes. The app provides the users with distinct features such as Shopping List where the users can select and add ingredients that need to be purchased. A unique feature of this app is that it would give local recipes suggestion to the user based on the user’s current location. The project has been implemented using JAVA, XML, JSON and various recipe APIs.

Getting Started

These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development, testing purposes and deployment purposes.

Installing

Recipe Zest can be installed on any Android mobile phone running versions greater than Android Lollipop (Android Version 5.0.0). The app is best run on Android Lollipop and is targeted towards the same. The app has been tested on Android Lollipop. To install the app, simply click on the APK file of the app and the mobile phone will do the rest. A copy of APK is present in this CD or can be generated through the code by running the code in Android studio or can be found at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PCqIi0v1IJQBUW1xHr3-7BsznNGLGHSh/view?usp=sharing A copy of code can be found in the CD.

Development Environment

The project has been developed on a Windows 8.1 OS using Java JDK (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html), Android Studio (https://developer.android.com/studio/) and Git (https://git-scm.com/downloads).
