KDTextField: An Objective-C repository from kedardesai

KDTextField

As of now, we have developed KDTextField to provide all the validation for UITextField on assigning a type.

Here are steps to use KDTextField:

1. Import KDTextField.h
2. Initialise object of KDTextField programmatically or using storyboard.
3. Implement KDTextFieldDelegate in your .h file.
4. Set type of KDTextField to provide basic validations.
5. You can also use method to select border color, text color and border width for normal state and error state.
6. Use validateTextFieldAnimated method to start validation when you needed.

We have attached example Project. You can follow that.

Here is an example of using KDTextField:

In our example we have used storyboard.

Drag and drop KDTextField.h and KDTextField.m in your project.

Import KDTextField.h in viewController's .h file.
Then created IBOutlet property for the control.

@property (nonatomic, strong) IBOutlet KDTextField *kdTextField;

KDTextField *kdTextField is mapped with UITextField component having class KDTextField in storyboard.
(Take UITextField on view in storyboard. Go to component's identity inspector, at the right side. Change class under Custom Class to KDTextField.)

Implement <KDTextFieldDelegate, UITextFieldDelegate> in your .h file.

[self.kdTextField validateTextFieldAnimated:YES]; // YES is the boolean value used to animate error state and normal state of KDTextField.


If text property is invalid according to what you have given as input, onError method will get implented. It will catch your error.
If text property is valid according to what you have given as input, onSucess method will get implented.

In case of numeric keypad it will call doneWithNumberPad when it will click on 'Done' button above keyboard.

If developer wants to set different validation than that what we have provided, Then he can make use of type kTextFieldTypeCustom, and can use addCustomValidation method.

Now you can also check whether textfield is valid or not, anywhere in the class using isValid property of KDTextField. If the value of isValid for kdTextField is NO then it is invalid, otherwise it is valid.
