The chapter names and ids need to match the chapter numbering. You should end up with the chapter files chapter-1.xhtml through chapter-48.xhtml. You don't need the book number since the chapters don't restart at 1 for each book. Take a look at the examples in SEMOS 2.2.4.1.

Instead of using the labels "The First Book of Lucius Apuleius of the Golden Ass" or "The First Chapter" these should be changed to `<h2><span epub:type="label">Book</span> <span epub:type="ordinal z3998:roman">I</span></h2>` and `<h3><span epub:type="label">Chapter</span> <span epub:type="ordinal z3998:roman">I</span></h3>` (SEMOS 7.2).

The chapter files and their ids also need to be renamed to follow SEMOS 2.2.4.1. The chapters do not restart at 1 in each book.

The files that contain front matter need to be renamed according to SEMOS 2.2.4.5 and 2.2.4.6. You don't need to label who wrote which section in the file name and id.

The files publishers-introduction.xhtml, tramslators-introduction-1.xhtml, tramslators-introduction-2.xhtml, and translators-dedication.xhtml actually look like they are forewards. They are not written by the author, they cover various subjects around this book, and they are located before the author's preface.

Sylla does not need italics or a language tag. The "the time of Sylla" refers to the reign of Lucius Cornelius Sulla (commonly known as Sulla or Sylla).

The words "baines", "Baines", and "bain" all mean bath/baths in Latin. Make sure "Baines" is lower-cased.
