ptcgo-data

This repository aims to provide an alternative data source that is compatible with the pokemontcg.io API, but sourced from the online game client. This has the following advantages and disadvantages over the linked dataset.

Advantages

  • This dataset supports the following languages
    • English
    • French
    • German
    • Italian
    • Portugese
    • Russian
    • Spanish
  • This dataset has complete sets as they are released, so Secret Rares and promos do not need to be added in later. Sometimes certain promo cards are even available before release date.

Disadvantages

  • This dataset does not have any cards older than the first HeartGold and SoulSilver set.
  • Some fields are missing. These include:
    • artist
    • evolvesTo
    • imageUrl
    • imageUrlHiRes
    • nationalPokedexNumber
    • series
    • set
  • It is currently not fully compatible with the API data, and will require some testing in order to ensure full compatibility.

Combining this data with that of the official API could help mitigate the problems of each, and this set aims to complement the existing one with additional languages and complete sets.

Using the data

This data is not currently served by any API, so it will have to be downloaded from this repository.

Contributing

Please submit bug reports for cases where the data is mismatched from the API, leading to compatibility issues, as well as any general data issues such as missing cards.
