A web-app for a mailroom at Rice University. Takes images of received packages, and sends emails to their recipients.

Mail Room Server

A Django server that can read the information off of a package label and send out an email to the package's owner notifying them that it has arrived.

Running Locally

Make sure you have Python 3.7 installed locally. To push to Heroku, you'll need to install the Heroku CLI, as well as Postgres.

$ git clone https://github.com/kyranstar/MailRoomServer.git
$ cd MailRoomServer

$ python3 -m venv getting-started
$ pip install -r requirements.txt

$ createdb python_getting_started

$ python manage.py migrate
$ python manage.py collectstatic

$ heroku local

Your app should now be running on localhost:5000.

Deploying to Heroku

$ heroku create
$ git push heroku master

$ heroku run python manage.py migrate
$ heroku open
