AlumniTags is a web-based service that allows users to "tag" their own e-mail addresses with words that describe the types of e-mail they want to receive, for example "Boston", "iRobot", "robotics", and "mechanical engineering." When staff is visiting a Boston-area healthcare company called Athena, they could send an e-mail to boston@alumnitags.olin.edu, healthcare@alumnitags.olin.edu, and athenahealth@alumnitags.olin.edu and have instant distribution to alumni who are interested in that content.
