Crime Data EDA for Saturday's Data Science EDA meetup
For this Saturday (June 9, 2018), Data Science Fellows at Galvanize, San Francisco will be exmaining at LA's Crime Data for exploratory data analysis (https://data.lacity.org/A-Safe-City/Crime-Data-from-2010-to-Present/y8tr-7khq). The mission is to formulate with real and strategic policy recommendations that would best benefit the LA Police, the local government, and other principal stakeholders.
The schedule of the aforesaid day is as follows:
Tentative Schecdule 10:00 - 10:45 - Settle in, lecture on the dataset/ techniques used on the dataset
10:45 - 12:00 - Individual review/wrangling of the dataset
12:00 - 1:00 - Group review/wrangling of the dataset (merge insights that you have gathered individually)
1:00 - 2:00 - Lunch
2:00 - 3:30 - Group review part 2 (finalizing jupyer-notebook file. Cleaning it up to make it ready for presentation and upload. Please be aware that much time might be spent here)
3:30 - 4:00 - Group presentation on the final analysis - presenting group's jupyter-notebook file
4:00 - 4:30 - Collectively brainstorm main insights, key policy recommendations, etc.
4:30 - - GitHub posting, blog prep, etc.
