find-campsite

This is a simple script that checks recreation.gov, reservecalifornia.com or QPWS (Australia) for any sites at a campground available for a length of time starting on a particular day of the week.

Install

npm install -g find-campsite or yarn global add find-campsite should do the trick.

Usage

find-campsite --campground <campground ID> [--api recreation_gov OR reserve_ca OR qpws] [--day fri] [--nights 2]

Campground IDs

On recreation.gov, you can find a campground's ID by looking at your URL bar on recreation.gov. In the URL https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/231958 for Arroyo Seco Campground, 231958 is the ID.

reservecalifornia.com is a bit trickier. You will need to find and click through to a campsite and monitor the Network tab in your browser's developer tools for a request to calirdr.usedirect.com/rdr/rdr/search/grid. The FacilityId referenced in the request body is the ID.

Queensland Parks & Wildlife Services support in the initial stages of being added; expect bugs for now.

I welcome any PRs to introduce text-based campground lookups!
