/Astronomical_Census

This study intends to identify how astronomical knowledge is related to demographic data in brazillian society (more specifically, age, gender, schooling, parents' schooling and profession); in that way, if patterns and groups are identified, profile-based outreach actions can be conducted, leading to more efficient scientific spreadness. Moreover, this work also intends to serve as a benchmark; the analysis conducted aims to be a standard to be followed and repeated in the future (and monitored over time, after actions have been taken), with more data. And how was the "census" conducted? A questionnaire, consisting of 6 demographic questions and 18 multiple alternative questions (with 5 alternatives each) about astronomical knowledge was spread out through Survey Monkey; nearly 600 answers were collected in three weeks. More details on this process and the questions chosen can be viewed on a paper about this work, soon to be published (I will attach it when it's finished).
