This application helps German learners revise complex German vocabulary (B2, C1 and C2) from my dictionary of words, which I collected from German books that I've read. The words mostly have their explanations from Duden in German, but some of them have a pure English or Slovene translation. DW stands for Deutscher Wortschatz, which is German for German vocabulary.

DW-Trainer

This application helps German learners revise complex German vocabulary (B2, C1 and C2) from my dictionary of words, which I collected from German books that I've read. The words mostly have their explanations from Duden in German, but some of them have a pure English or Slovene translation. DW stands for Deutscher Wortschatz, which is German for German vocabulary.

What DW-Trainer does

It will select a word from the dictionary and ask you about its meaning. You should come up with a definition or explain the meaning and click on next. Then the solution is displayed and a new word selected.

How does the DW-Trainer work?

The programme reads the ordered pairs of words and their meanings in the DW.txt file and then creates a numbered dictionary. It then uses random.randint() to select a random number between 1 and the number of words/phrases in the dictionary and looks for the word entry in the dictionary.
