pygments.appspot.com shutting down

pygments.appspot.com is shutting down soon, please find an alternative source for syntax highlighting
Why is it shutting down? Maybe you can set up a new one somewhere else (code is available here https://github.com/trevorturk/pygments)?
feel free to fork it and setup your own, but i personally have no use for it anymore.
i wont speak for @trevorturk tho
@marcoow I'm not shutting it down immediately, just reducing the daily budget dramatically to start. I'm being billed something like $8/week, and I'm not using it anymore myself. I feel bad about it, but I'm sure you can understand I don't want to pay $8/week indefinitely for something I'm not using.
Oh, and you can feel free to set up your own instance using the code here. I think the minimum charge on App Engine is $2/week.
Thanks; I was under the impression that App Engine was completely free for the smallest instance type (never actually used it myself though). I'm just going to remove the fallback as it's not so great to do syntax highlighting on the server side via a synchronous HTTP request anyway ;)
Yeah -- it was free when I set it up, but they keep raising the prices on me 😢
Fixed - I set up a new HTTP API at http://pygments.simplabs.com though - running for free on Heroku 👍
Awesome. You guys kind updating this one to say its deprecated and I'll
take it down in a month or two?
