Tinambo is a one-file flat-file Content Management System written in PHP (any version from 5.3 up should be just fine), that doesn't have any other requirements than PHP to run. It doesn't need a database, it stores the posts and pages into JSON text files and it is fully PHP 7 compatible.
As a flat-file Content Management System, Tinambo stores the content in files and folders, which has a handful of advantages. You don’t need to query the database each time you show a page and the flat-file system generates dynamic pages.
There’s no need to configure or maintain a database and this is a big thing for a lot of people; it saves a lot of time and often is a headache. Installation is usually just a matter of uploading files to a server and boom. Your site is ready.
- full responsive for best mobile experience.
- posts, pages, media.
- customizable URL slug for editor panel (security by obscurity is good).
- editor area for easy blog administration.
- contact form.
- full-text search.
- Facebook and Twitter integration.
- Google Analytics integration.
- Facebook or Disqus comments.
- built-in jQuery via Google AJAX libs.
- RSS, ATOM and OPML feeds.
- JSON API output so you can integrate 3rd party apps to post/view data to/from your blog.
- minify option that will minimize and obfuscate the HTML code.
- full HTML5-compliant.
- JSON files (posts, pages and media) can be encrypted with an AES-256-CBC cipher for best security. If your JSON files are downloaded, without the encryption key and iv they are useless.
- media files can be private so that your visitors cannot access them.
- embed mode when you want to embed the blog into an existing design.
- many other things that you can discover in this under-200Kb application (code comments, lots of them, included in that).
- multi-language support.
- offline mode so that all required files (jQuery library, webfonts, etc) are loaded from local resources.
Simply edit the settings at the top of the blog.php
file, then copy the blog.php
file to your host and rename it if you want. The script will automatically create the media
pages
and posts
directories.
All Tinambo's settings are located at the top of the blog.php file, each is commented as well as possible, make sure you only change what you need and understand the implications. Changing the key
to something different than false
is required before you can login to the admin panel.
Tinambo is a multi-language Content Management System and a new language is very easy to add. Download the correct file from the Tinambo language repository, create a new directory called lang
and upload the file to that directory. After that, configure Tinambo to use the new language file:
'lang' => 'en-EN', // change this to your new language, for example, ro-RO or fr-FR
