This is LaTeX document with The Funniest Joke in the World typeseted in fraktur using blacklettert1 package (T1-alike encoded variants of Yannis Haralammbous's old German fonts).
Why? Well, just for fun :)
When you have all the requirements (as listed below) installed, just run
make
to generate pdf file or make joke.svg
for producing svg output
instead.
Besides having pdflatex
from Tex Live installed on your Linux distro,
you need to have the following ctan packages installed to build the pdf:
- babel-german
- gothic
- yfonts-t1
- blacklettert1
- lettrine
For svg export to work, you need to have dvisvgm
tool (and latex
,
obviously) installed .
On Fedora, which provides Tex Live distribution packaged in it's
repositories, you can prefix the name of a ctan package with texlive-
to
install the rpm package:
# dnf install textlive-babel-german
Moreover one can also use virtual provides feature to install rpm package with given tex file, which is usefull when latex build fails on some missing file:
# dnf install 'tex(german.ldf)' # dnf install 'tex(yfrak.pfb)'
