Rookie is a project to build a MediaWiki parser in Ruby.
Why did you call it Rookie?¶ ↑
The name comes from a combination of “Ruby” and “wiki”. It’s also my first attempt at writing a parser for anything, so the name seemed appropriate.
Who are you?¶ ↑
My name is Marnen Laibow-Koser. I’m the developer of Quorum, and I’m writing Rookie in order to be able to use MediaWiki markup in Quorum (and to learn about parser construction…). I’m a Web developer and musician in Albany, New York.
