DummyText is a little gem to generate lorem ipsum dummy text. Further it is possible to generate your own text template.

Install¶ ↑

gem install dummy_text

You can add it to your Gemfile:

gem "dummy_text"

How it Works¶ ↑

DummyText offers a view helper:

<%= dummy_text "1c" %> # 1 character will be created
<%= dummy_text "2w" %> # 2 words will be created
<%= dummy_text "3s" %> # 3 sentences will be created
<%= dummy_text "4p" %> # 4 paragraphs will be created

Create own Template¶ ↑

It is possible to generate your own text template. Just run the generator:

rails g dummy_text

This will copy a text_template.txt in “config/dummy_text/text_template”. Now you can edit the template the way you like!
