Cloud Posse

Welcome to the Cloud Posse Developer Hub Documentation Portal.

All documentation is published to docs.cloudposse.com. Here you'll find comprehensive guides and documentation to help you start working with the Cloud Posse technology stack as quickly as possible, as well as support if you get stuck.

Let's jump right in! Here's how to get started with our documentation.


This project is part of our comprehensive "SweetOps" approach towards DevOps.

It's 100% Open Source and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

Usage

  1. Download Docker.

  2. Install the Atom editor(optional).

    • After installation, run make deps/atom.
    • Select Activate the AtomInstall Shell Commands menu item.
    • Ensure that /usr/local/bin is in the PATH.
  3. Run the following commands for faster development:

    export YARN_BUILD_DISABLED=true
    
  4. Run make init.

  5. Run make run COMPONENTS_BUILD=true/false to start the local server.

  6. Run make build to generate static site in public/.

Makefile Targets

Available targets:

  build                               Generate all static content (outputs to public/) using docker environment
  components/build                    Build front-end components
  css                                 Generate all static content (outputs to public/) using docker environment
  deploy                              Deploy static site to S3
  deps                                Install package dependencies
  deps-darwin                         Install OSX deps
  help                                Help screen
  help/all                            Display help for all targets
  help/short                          This help short screen
  invalidate-cache                    Invalidate CloudFlare cache (all files)
  reindex                             Update algolia search index
  release                             Generate a release config
  run                                 Start the hugo server for live editing using docker environment
  smoketest                           Run smoketest
  terraform-modules/update            Update terraform-modules pages
  test                                Run tests
  validate                            Validate all html is good
