Aquinas: The universe cannot have been created Ex nihilo, it postulates that furthermore all things must be the effect of a cause. This forms the roots of a tree leading back to God at the very beginning.
From William Paley: Note the inherent structure to the Universe, the complexity. It must have been designed by someone. The theory, and evidence for, evolution raises significant questions as to the validity of this assumption. There must have been a "God" to bring this about.
- From experience: Some people simply find God's existence to be self-evident.
- Morality: We all have (Do we?) some - inherent - notion of right and wrong, this must have come from somewhere, e.g. God. (QED. God exists?)
- Many people are simply brought up with God around them and therefore do not ned a reason to be convinced of God's existence.
