# Django_REST_API_Tutorial

Step 1: Set Up Django Project and App Open a terminal in the directory where you want to create your project.

Run the following commands:

django-admin startproject myproject cd myproject python manage.py startapp myapp

Step 2: Define Model In myapp/models.py, define your model. For example:

class Item(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=100) description = models.TextField()

def __str__(self):
    return self.name_

Run migrations:

python manage.py makemigrations python manage.py migrate

Step 3: Create Serializers In myapp/serializers.py, create serializers for your models:

class ItemSerializer(serializers.ModelSerializer): class Meta: model = Item fields = 'all'__

Step 4: Create Views

In myapp/views.py, create views using Django REST framework:

urlpatterns = [ path('items/', ItemListCreateView.as_view(), name='item-list-create'), ]_ Include this URL configuration in the main project's urls.py:

myproject/urls.py
