This channel was setup to fix some python packages etc in Guix, and
can hopefully be added (by also modifiying some packages) to guix
master in the future. The main point is to support both the jupyter
package (as in successfully running the jupyter-notebook
command)
and the alpha nbdev-org-babel package.
Add this to your ~/.config/guix/channels.scm
:
(list (channel
(name 'guix)
(url "https://git.savannah.gnu.org/git/guix.git")
;; 1 commit before the change for python-prompt-toolkit etc which breaks the jupyter package
(commit "bcbd63407e933ce04aef72757387a0bacdb07e77")
;;(branch "master")
)
(channel
(name 'my-guix-packages)
(url "https://github.com/methuselah-0/my-guix-packages.git")
)
)
Run guix pull
to update to those channel commits. The guix channel
is pinned to a commit that is right before a commit that breaks
jupyter etc (32ba87c14fd5e5b54d95211cd9a159d568ce7c67), and the python
packages in this channels are modified to work with that specific
commit. You may want to set my-guix-packages channel to commit
3639aad52d642844910fdfdc80c6db16798048b4 as well. And finally, you may
want to specify the commit cc23925f96a02b53aa5c9216e566c2dbb0b0c204
for the bash-coding-utils channel dependency in the .guix-channel file
in this repo to be sure that everything is set to exactly the setup in
which these packages were tested to work.
