strandCet
The strandCet R package provides a new analytical framework to assess mortality in cetacean populations and to explore the consequences of management decisions using only stranding-derived data
strandCet_example
This example has been created to demonstrate the applicability of the strandCet package. A theoretical case study with all steps needed to carry out the analysis of cetacean mortality from strandings is presented. The data used was published by Stolen and Barlow (2003) and corresponds to 220 aged bottlenose dolphins (*Tursiops truncatus*) stranded in the Indian River Lagoon System (Florida, USA). There are evidences of the residence of these dolphins in the river system and no direct anthropogenic threats (as bycatch) have been detected.
