Hi, what is the current status of this project? Is it still maintained?

With no commits in several years, the answer appears to the “no”.
It's possible that one of the hundreds of forks has picked up and continued forward; but sadly Github provides no tool to spot the most active forks (other than linear, human search) of a project that has gone idle.

There are hundreds of static site generators out there.
If anyone has a suggestion of a handful of them that might be the shortest migration from markdown-styles, it would be great to list them in this issue!
