RIU card control protocol version 0.2

  • Device (interface) description:

    • 4 E&M interface to 4 radio networks. Indexed from 1 .. 4
    • 1 Serial port interface to RIU processor unit
    • 4 x blue-ptt + 4 x green-sq LED indicators for the 4 E&M interfaces

  • Control protocol

    • enable TX --> Turn PTT on/off
    • disable TX --> PTT on/off is ineffective
    • enable RX --> Being able to generate SQ status
    • disable RX --> Will not generate SQ status

  • Control commands (this device receive and behave accordingly) & status (this device will generate to indicate its operational state)

    STATUS FORMAT: (What signal: T, R, Q, L)

    • Enable TX for port #X (X is index of one interface. Can be 1, 2, 3, or 4): command: entxX (e.g.: entx1) effect: port #X is enabled, status: TX1 (e.g.: T11)

    • Disable TX for port #X command: distxX (eg.: distx1) effect: port X is disabled, status: TX0 (e.g.: T10)

    • Turn PTT on for port X (prequisites: TX of port X must be enabled) command: onpttX (e.g.: onptt1) effect: LED blue on, status: LX1 (e.g.: L11)

    • Turn PTT off for port X (prequisites: TX of port X must be enabled) command: offpttX (e.g.: offptt1) effect: LED blue on, status: LX0 (e.g.: L10)

    • Enable RX for port #X (X is index of one interface. Can be 1, 2, 3, or 4): command: enrxX (e.g.: enrx1) effect: port #X is enabled, status: RX1 (e.g.: R11)

    • Disable RX for port #X command: disrxX (eg.: disrx1) effect: port #X is disabled, status: RX0 (e.g.: R10)

    • Check PTT port #X command: pttX (eg.: ptt1) status: LX1 (being enabled) or LX0 (being disabled) (e.g.: L11 or L10)

    • Check TX port #X command: txX (eg.: tx1) status: TX1 (being enabled) or TX01 (being disabled) (e.g.: T11 or T10)

    • Check RX port #X command: rxX (eg.: rx1) status: RX1 (being enabled) or RX0 (being disabled) (e.g.: R11 or R10)

    • Check SQ port #X command: sqX (eg.: sq1) status: Q1X (being enabled) or QX0 (being disabled) (e.g.: Q11 or Q10)

    • When SQ signal at port X is changed from "open" --> "closed": status: QX0

    • When SQ signal at port X is changed from "closed" --> "open": status: QX1

    • When error occurs status: EN (E.g.: E1, 1 is the error code)
