This is a new React Native project, bootstrapped using @react-native-community/cli
.
This React Native application serves as an interactive platform for art enthusiasts to explore and appreciate a curated collection of artworks. Users can browse through a list of gathered masterpieces, delve into detailed information about each artwork, and learn more about the talented artists behind them. The app also provides features for liking artworks and offers a search functionality for easy navigation.
- Artwork List: View a comprehensive list of artworks, each displaying key details.
- Artwork Details: Access in-depth information about each artwork, including title, artist, and additional details.
- Artist Information: Explore details about the creators of the artworks showcased in the app.
- Like Functionality: Express appreciation for favorite artworks by liking them.
- Search Capability: Easily find specific artworks using the search feature.
The application utilizes the Art Institute of Chicago API to fetch data about artworks and artists. This seamless integration enhances the app's content with rich and authoritative information.
Note: Make sure you have completed the React Native - Environment Setup instructions till "Creating a new application" step, before proceeding.
First, you will need to start Metro, the JavaScript bundler that ships with React Native.
To start Metro, run the following command from the root of your React Native project:
# using npm
npm start
# OR using Yarn
yarn start
Let Metro Bundler run in its own terminal. Open a new terminal from the root of your React Native project. Run the following command to start your Android or iOS app:
# using npm
npm run android
# OR using Yarn
yarn android
# using npm
npm run ios
# OR using Yarn
yarn ios
If everything is set up correctly, you should see your new app running in your Android Emulator or iOS Simulator shortly provided you have set up your emulator/simulator correctly.
You've successfully run your React Native App. 🥳
This is one way to run your app — you can also run it directly from within Android Studio and Xcode respectively.
