DeepL Translation for Chrome

This Chrome extension (which can be loaded locally) translates via context menu with the right mouse button your textarea or input fields e.g. in your CMS editor like WordPress or Kirby CMS in a very simple way.

In the extension settings you can enter your Free or Pro API key from DeepL and select your preferred languages.

After a refresh of the extension you can use the translation tools for your text selection by right clicking in Chrome.

DeepL even keeps HTML code etc. when translating.

Requirements

Installation

To install this extension in Chrome, you need to download the files and save them in a folder of your choice and unzip the ZIP.

Go to the chrome://extensions/ page and click the "Load unpacked extension" button and select the unzipped folder for your extension to install it.

Then go to "Details" and under "Options" enter your API key and your languages.

Update

Download the latest release and put the whole files from the .zip into the same directory. Go to the chrome-extension and hit "Update" on top of the extension window. It should show the latest release version number.

Troubleshooting

If it shows you "failed to fetch", please set the Extension Permission in Chrome to "All Websites" to allow it to run on every site.
