running TM under windows

Closed this issue · 3 comments

Dear all is there a specific windows/WSL tutorial ?
After struggeling a lot with docker install it happens now that I have issues defining path's between windows and unix.
Further, i tried to start with the sample data provided wich is in tar format, thus not recognized on my windows10 computer.

Any guidelines are welcome,

Fabrice.

Dear Fabrice,
Indeed, Docker has become very difficult to install on some recent Windows. So far, if you have no other alternative than a recent MS Windows, I would recommend to install TM in a virtual machine such as VirtualBox running Ubuntu on which to install docker (lots of tutorials exit in the web). Not optimal in terme of resource, but working. On ubuntu it's important to add the docker group to simplify the usage regarding permissions : https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/linux-postinstall/
Best wishes,
Raphael

Is it possible to use the R scripts outside Tissue-miner ?
It's not recommended because you would have to consider lots of dependencies to manage yourself.
Best,
Raphael
