TinyGS is an open network of Ground Stations distributed around the world to receive and operate LoRa satellites, weather probes and other flying objects, using cheap and versatile modules.

This is a fork of the TinyGS repository. If you are looking for the official repository, official firmware releases and documentation see github.com/G4lile0/tinyGS

Build

The upstream repository has a master branch from which the official releases are compiled, and a beta branch where development is ongoing. There are no precompiled releases from the beta branch. The master branch is curently well behind the beta branch.

The latest release provided in this fork is the result of compiling the beta branch plus:

If you would like to use the latest firmware on your TinyGS station without having to compile it from source yourself, this release may be of interest.

This version adds support for 2 new Lora boards - Heltec Lora32 V3 board (ESP32S3 with sx1262) and the Lilygo T3_1.6.1. Why weren't these boards handled properly by the original (or beta) code? The Heltec V3 board uses a different ESP32 variant - the ESP32-S3 which requires newer libraries and build settings. It also uses a SX1262 radio which requires other changes. The new Lilygo board has an ESP32-PICO-D4 cpu but has no RST on the OLED and one of the common reset lines (GPIO16) turns out to be one of the flash control lines (flash_cs) on this board, so that during the new board identification code wiggling this line makes this board unstable because it turns off the flash access.

The latest update makes the radio code compatible with V6(+) of the RadioLib library. V6 has some incompaible changes with the V5 code so there are several small fixes for this. To make it easier to coordinate and synchronize with new versions of RadioLib its source code has been removed from the repository and replaced by a lib_dep that will pull the appropriate version from github. The primary reason for the library version update is to provide the Lora frequency error data for the SX1262, and to take advantage of several other improvements to the radio support.
