macOS Monterey and mummer4

Hello, I have been unable to use mummer4 and generate a .delta file to plot on my Imac. Apparently the reason - from what I read from comments after various google searches - is something in the perl file that does not direct mummer4 with a command to gnuplot (not sure if there are other problems but everything else worked till this point for me). There are some suggested workarounds for changing the shell script (I'm not a person who writes any code but I can follow instructions - usually ;-} .
None of the workarounds suggested helped me, and apparently there are other people who are in the same boat. Anyway, I just went back and installed mummer v3.23=h6de7cb9_11 using mamba install and that is working great.

Just wondering if there will be a fix for the next version sometime, since it has even more amazing functions? Or, is there a workaround that you might suggest?
