Root access is unneeded when injecting payload in Linux, via following the standard guide.

At least in arch kde I can open the payload injector just fine without root perms and I can inject the payload perfectly fine too. I don't think the guide could mean anything lsbyoo user either as everyone in linux is initaldard user. Just wanted to bring this up.

You probably have already configured your udev rules to not require root.

Most likely culprit is having installed the nx-udev package in the AUR. ;)

Default settings for udev are usually to not allow the access that you need to inject a payload unless you set up a rule for it. We have a page on the guide how to do it. You probably unintentionally followed that guide.

I dont think thats it bc I still need my password when using the terminal. But maybe
