modern-unix

This module collects Windows versions of most of the modern-unix tools. It includes completions and a few additional helpers and aliases.

Install

Install-Module modern-unix-win

Usage

Import the module.

Import-Module modern-unix-win

This will add all of the tools to your path. You can list them with with the mutools alias.

PS1> mutools

bat
broot
btm
cheat
delta
dog
duf
dust
fd
gping
hyperfine
lsd
procs
rg
sd
xh
zoxide

PS1> bat --version

bat 0.18.2

Enable completions for a specific tool with mucomplete [-ToolName] <ToolName>.

PS1> mucomplete bat

PS1> bat -<tab>
_language_     listthemes     number         italictext     tabs
listlanguages  style          linerange      decorations    help
mapsyntax      plain          highlightline  paging         version
theme          showall        color          wrap

Set the language for syntax highlighting.

Or enable completion for all of them by ommiting the argument.

PS1> mucomplete

PS1> btm --b<tab>
_basic_  battery

Hides graphs and uses a more basic look.

Get the manfile for a given tool with muman.

💡	A good way to view manfiles on Windows is via pandoc.
