This app is the starter app for demonstrating how to add languages for string resources, and fix layouts for an RTL language.
This app, based on the Basic Activity template, provides TextViews with string resources in a ConstraintLayout. It includes an image and a floating action button that can make a phone call. The options menu has a single menu item, Help, that launches a second activity with help information. These elements are provided for the developer to learn how to add translations, and to fix the layout for an RTL language.
You need to know:
- How to open, build, and run apps with Android Studio.
- How to switch languages on an Android device or emulator.
- How to extract string resources and use string resources in the code.
- How to use the layout editor to align views in a ConstraintLayout.
- How to edit layouts in XML.
- How to change or add to an options menu set up by the Basic Activity template.
- Download the code.
- Open the code in Android Studio.
- Run the app.
