this is a reference for a bare minium toolset for messing around with kotlin at the CLI. it takes a single kotlin file and executes it, similar to how other interpreters might. this is useful for CLI enthusiasts curious about kotlin who would like to experiment with the basics.

contains the kotlin and jvm dependencies. you don't need to use nix for these and may use it as a reference for instead for use with your preferred package manager.
if your editor requires manual formatter configuration, you most likely will need ktfmt
to emit the linted code on stdout rather than updating the file in place. configuring your editor to run ktfmt -
should get you there.
