unintuitive controls

mansur007 opened this issue · 1 comments

Hello, it seems to me that controlling the worm with a mouse is difficult.
It is very easy to rotate it around one axis(vertical), but quite hard around the other two.
When I manage to rotate it along a horizontal axis - it becomes impossible to translate the worm up and down.
Also, when you click at a component - it changes the view significantly.
Is it possible to make the controls more intuitive?
Thank you

@mansur007, sorry for the very late reply. I see what you mean. I think the combined up/down translation and vertical axis rotation actually works pretty well for displaying ventral and dorsal views as well as navigating along the worm's body by zooming in and out, although it is a bit surprising at first.

I haven't been able to reproduce what you describe as it becoming impossible to translate the worm up and down -- any rotations I've done, I've been able to get back to the up/down translation phase. You can also hit the home button on the LHS navigation panel.

I agree about the repositioning of the camera that happens when a cell is focused. Very jarring. It seems to be trying to center the cell and get most of it in view, but it misses the mark for a lot of cells, besides the fact that the targeting seems to be off. We should fix that.
