Django based server for the oframe idea. OFrame was an idea to have a picture frame like device in peoples houses that displayed images from social media. This was a POC that pulled in images from your facebook and display it on a client.

Django based server for the oframe idea. OFrame was an idea to have a picture frame like
device in peoples houses that displayed images from social media. This was a POC that
pulled in images from your facebook and display it on a client.

Example would be that you buy your grandmother the OFrame and configure it to display
pictures from her family. It would sit on her table and just slideshow through pictures.
It would be touchscreen to allow her to go forward or back on pictures she liked. Other
features could be that she likes a picture and it will show more often, dislike a
picture and it won't show etc. It would also be a platform for other apps to run on.

It could potentially even show ads and be funded in that way. 

dev installation

(Note: For Max OSX use the full path to the python, it has troubles with symbolic links)

** setup virtual env: **
pc> python lib/pinax/scripts/pinax-boot.py --development --source=lib/pinax pinax-env --django-version=1.2.dev12229
mac>/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/bin/python2.6 lib/pinax/scripts/pinax-boot.py --development --source=lib/pinax pinax-env --django-version=1.2.dev12229

** activate virtual env: **
mac> source pinax-env/bin/activate
pc> pinax-env\Scripts\activate.bat

# todo: create githook for this automatically
** update 'local' requirements: (done after each sync) **
pip install --no-deps -r requirements.txt
python manage.py syncdb --noinput
python manage.py migrate
python manage.py runserver 0.0.0.0:8000

** to send emails/syncfb: **
> python manage.py cron

** when pinax/lib changes **
git submodule update
rm -rf pinax-env
pc> python lib/pinax/scripts/pinax-boot.py --development --source=lib/pinax pinax-env --django-version=1.2.dev12229
