game submission: Deu Deu Amics De Nou

Hi there :)
Thanks for your work reviving Ouya!
I finished an Ouya version of my game.
There are two versions, the one with mature lyrics in the music and the other with all the music removed.
I tried to get the controllers working as well as I could but the old SDL is a PITA!
It would make all my Ouya friends really happy to see this on the store, especially for October 10th :)
Anyway, I hope you find the game worthy for inclusion :)

No, I won't add the game.

Hello,
I saw the discord conversation, the Amico community (what's left) isn't toxic, but there's a lot of gaslighting and FUD, like the intentional wrong advice you received, and I would question the motive.

As I wrote in the game text, the game is satirical in nature and a parody, this means no permission is required for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), it's the same laws that let people make videos about others, and games, ie: Trump games on itch.io without Trump's permission.

Protection for Creative Works

As a general matter, you will not be held liable for using someone's name or likeness in a creative, entertaining, or artistic work that is transformative, meaning that you add some substantial creative element over and above the mere depiction of the person. In other words, the First Amendment ordinarily protects you if you use someone's name or likeness to create something new that is recognizably your own, rather than something that just evokes and exploits the person's identity.

Also, the people in my game are or were public facing, so there's no invasion of privacy.
The player images were sourced from public profiles images and converted to 32x32 pixelart.
The game is a transformative original work, free, in public domain and anonymous, so there's no financial or personal gain to me.

For your context, the characters in the game are mostly avid gamers, involved in the games industry or influenced the CEO, the game is inspired by the original Intellivision game, Night Stalker... the Amico is (or was to be) the successor intellivision console... the theme, people and context are related, thus the game.

"This game appears to be a product of that. A joke game. And all though it's tame, I'm positive that the YouTubers who's identity and faces are included in this game, may take great offense to this game. "

Really? Like the outrage this Amico game got when it too used actual high res images of the youtubers?

hmm, no great offense in the comments.

Again youtubers and with no offense in the thread.

And one more, with the CEO,

... nobody cared.

I don't see why anyone would "take great offense" over my game and not with these?
Some of these games also involve shooting something at someone, in my game the player shoots hearts, but rendered as blocks for optimization, to both friends and enemies.

Lastly, my game is also on itch.io, and on Blithub, 32blit's community game hub. and had zero objections or concerns.

In my personal and professional opinion, I would strongly advise you not include the game for the sake of any negative clashback that will or can come from the Amico community. These guys do no know how to stop when they get going.

This is pure hyperbole... "don't know how to stop" what? making videos? that get a few hundred views at most?
I've talked to many people on both sides of Amico, and they have respect for Ouya, especially after Amico! and most are unaware of the new server!

"The game screams "F**king Amico, After Dark". In a lyrical format as you play the game."

Screams??
The guy singing acapella "Fking Amico After Dark" is Alpha Nerd Entertainment (he is also famous for his hot tub mafia acapella song), and he's featured in the 2nd Amico reaction video:
https://youtu.be/Tnxi8mI5BF8?t=17, and credited in the descriptions.

Amico After Dark was a pro amico livestream show... he's praising the show, not hating on it.
BTW, these two songs and many others were removed from youtube, the game is preserving a legacy and a shared experience.

I released the game anonymously, because I want the game to stand on it's own merit in the community, and not judged based on the person that created it (I'm opinionated, but i'm not an influencer).

I am happy to give you my full name and email in confidence of my privacy.

I ask that you please reconsider, I am an active developer in the Ouya community, I'm a hobbyist and this is my first finished Ouya game, and I had hoped to share and make more... but this is just weird to me, that a single tester can falsely dictate what goes on and off your platform.

Sorry for this long reply.

MrSplinter: Being a toxic game, nothing to do with Ouya and no one (apart from a few trolls) seem to care about the game. I don't think we should spend time on any more requests on that thing. If you want to play it you can side-load it.
