This repository stores the config of aconfmgr for my EndeavourOS instance. It keeps track of installed packages, but not dotfiles.
The inital commit was built like this.
- Install EndeavorOS with default packages (more or less) from Live USB
- After booting into new instance, isntall aconfmgr using
yay -S aconfmgr-git
- From home folder, run
aconfmgr save
- create a file ~/.config/aconfmgr/10-ignores.sh, and paste a list of default ignores I found at CyberShadow/aconfmgr#37
- Add some of my own ignores for subfolders of /efi/ (see 10-ignores.sh)
- delete everything under ~/.config/aconfmgr/ except 10-ignores.sh
- Re-run
aconfmgr save
- Create this github repository
- Create this file
- Follow the instructions shown (roughly) on my the new repository's main page to push my local repo to github (from ~/.config/aconfmgr/):
git init
git add .
git config --global user.email "john.paul.abrams@gmail.com"
git config --global user.name "Paul Abrams"
git commit -m "initial commit"
git branch -M trunk
git remote add origin https://github.com/pabrams/aconfmgr-EndeavourOS.git
- set up a personal access token (classic, with public_repo permission) and copied it to my clipboard
git push -u origin trunk
- when prompted, entered my github username and password.
- commit more changes
- run aconfmgr save again to pick up any changed config (e.g. for git, but i guess that's not tracked, since my config waws unchanged)
- commit/push changes again
