Thin API layer for the MangaPlus manga site. Note that this is intended for programmatically navigating their api.
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'manga_plus-api'
And then execute:
bundle
Or install it yourself as:
gem install manga_plus-api
This sample application will get a random title from the list of titles available, choose the first chapter, and download all the pages for that chapter (decrypting the images).

manga_viewer = MangaViewer.new(chapter_id)
manga = manga_viewer.call

Dir.mkdir folder unless Dir.exist?(folder)
Dir.chdir folder

This is also available in the examples/get_random_chapter.rb
in the repository. If you have docker and docker-compose installed, you can run:
docker compose run ruby bundle
docker compose run ruby examples/get_random_chapter.rb
After checking out the repo, run bin/setup
to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec
to run the tests. You can also run bin/console
for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install
. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb
, and then run bundle exec rake release
, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem
file to rubygems.org.
