pin support structure merges with side pins 0.4mm nozzle

Hi - I have terrible trouble removing the support structure from the side pins of the bottom frame in a stack. I'm using a regular 0.4mm nozzle and cura for slicing at 0.25mm layers with a 0.2 initial layer. Take a look at my cura slicer screen shot for layer 2 and you'll see that the pin merges with the foot - this is the same from the main and the dev sites.

I cross checked with the UK quad stack from the Prusa site and find that the Prusa version has a thinner foot for the support which requires only 1 layer to be printed and therefore no merge/contact of the side pins touching the foot. Can the tool be updated to have the thinner foot and/or put the support structure further away from the pins to avoid this clash?
