I guess I've been writing code almost since I was able to type.

I started out with QBASIC in the early 90s, writing and modding games. Later, I picked up Visual Basic and Visual C++ in the middle 90s while I was in Middle School. Later still, I learned variants of Lisp and Forth for programming MUDs. I did some Perl in the late 90s during the first dot-com bubble and learned some Java and C in college. My last three jobs have been primarily PHP, Python and Javascript, but with a healthy dose of other languages including Ruby, Objective-C and Swift.

I earned a bachelor's degree from Auburn University (War Eagle!) in 2004 and have worked as a software engineer in a wide range of industries: transit systems, education, computer-based training, telecommunications, online retailing and health care.
