Important instructions to run the jupyter notebooks

Enable Mathjax to render latex equations

To do this first go to command line and generate the jupyter config file.

jupyter notebook --generate-config

In the .jupyter folder in your home directory find the jupyter_notebook_config.py file and uncomment the line below

# c.NotebookApp.mathjax_url = ''
c.NotebookApp.enable_mathjax = True

Enable Equation Numbering for latex

To enable the equation numbering in jupyter we have to install the nbextensions package. Run the following in the command prompt to install and enable the equation numbering option.

pip install jupyter_contrib_nbextensions

jupyter contrib nbextension install --user
jupyter nbextension enable equation-numbering/main
