This is a version of equivs augmented with the (forward-ported) patch from debian bug report #603850 that adds a new option "-S" (source only). This option creates source-only packages, suitable for uploading to a launchpad ppa. Upstream seems to be of the opinion that packages created with equivs aren't meant to be uploaded anywhere (which is in a purist sense correct since equivs' main purpose is to "cheat" debian's package system for local workarounds like a self-compiled apache). But, another fairly legitimate use of "equivs" is to easily/fast create metapackages to automate portions of your setup and these metapackages are fair game for uploading to a ppa. This is my motivation for maintaining this version.
