ChromeX is a base template for building Chrome Extensions using Tailwind CSS, Webpack, and jQuery.

Getting Started

Clone the repository to your local machine.

git clone https://github.com/anuragdeepxon/chromex.git
cd chromex

Prerequisites

Make sure you have Node.js and npm installed. The project primarily uses the following technologies:

  • Webpack
  • Tailwind CSS
  • jQuery

Installation

Install the required packages using npm.

npm install

This will install all the dependencies defined in package.json.

Development

Start the development server.

npm run dev

This will watch for changes in the src directory and automatically compile the code into the dist folder.

Building

To build the extension for production, run:

npm run build

This will create optimized files in the dist directory.

Importing into Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/.
  2. Enable Developer Mode by clicking the toggle switch.
  3. Click on "Load Unpacked."
  4. Navigate to the dist directory of this project and click "Select."

You should now see the Chromex extension icon in your Chrome toolbar.
